Knit this bicolor pattern with us! The fleur-de-lis pattern can be used for many projects, and you can use it for any garment worked in stockinette stitch. It’s easy to work and you can practice the “stranded knitting” technique, and get practice knitting with two colors at the same time and leaving the strands in the back of your work.

You just need your needles and a couple of colors of the Petit Wool, and our video:

Stitch multiple of 6 + 3 stitches. Not reversible.

Remember that the contrasting color, color B, (in our example, the white wool) always has to be on top of the main color, color A, when you change colors.

Row 1: knit 3 with color A. *Change to color B and knit 1, change to color A and knit 5*. Repeat from * to * until the end of the row.

Row 2: purl 1 with color B. *Change to color A and purl 3, change to color B and purl 3*. Repeat from * to * until there are 2 stitches left, purl 2 with color A.

Row 3: repeat row 1.

Row 4: purl 2 with color A. *Change to color B and purl 1, change to color A and purl 5*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, purl 1 with color B.

Row 5: knit 2 with color B. *Change to color A and knit 3, change to color B and knit 3*. Repeat from * to * until there is 1 stitch left, knit 1 with color A.

Row 6: repeat row 4.

Repeat these 6 rows until you reach the desired length.

This stitch creates small flowers on your project that you can vary by using different color combinations. Give this stitch a try and don’t forget to share your progress with us using the tag #weareknitters on social networks.
